K.B. Steenstra

K.B. Steenstra writes science fiction and fantasy for teens and adults, with a special interest in stories that bring magic and science into our own world, where hope and loss are explored, and characters feel real.

She is currently working on The Rewritten, a completed science-fiction novel about an interplanetary empire sustained by time manipulation and a ruler forced to choose between preserving inherited control and dismantling the system she was raised to uphold.

She is also working on a memoir about her adolescence, when illness forced her family to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina for medical treatment in the United States, exploring cross-cultural identity, loss, and resilience.

Outside of writing, she works as a school librarian, nurturing a love of reading and storytelling in the next generation.
